Maria Luggau is the religious centre of the valley and a much visited place of pilgrimage, well-known beyond Carinthia’s borders. This remote mountainous region with its raw beauty has been as well-known since its establishment as a place of pilgrimage in the 16^th century, as it was unknown and anonymous previously.

A trip to the pilgrimage church and the water mills is highly recommended.
