Energy-giving places in the Lesachtal valley
The human body lives on vital energy called “Qi”, which we acquire at birth. According to Chinese medicine, every living creature and nature are pervaded by Qi. This is understood as something spiritual, on the one hand, and by something material on the other - Yin and Yang to be precise, which constitute vital energy.
Qi supports man in every activity and we have to thank it for making all our body functions possible.
This energy accumulates in our organs and flows through our energy channels, or lines, called meridians.
According to a theory from Chinese medicine, the human body has been given enough vital energy (Qi) to reach the age of 100-120 years. However, this depends on how the Qi manages to flow through our bodies and how we live our lives (diet, physical exercise, inner harmony, etc.).
Moreover, vital energy is a fundamental concept, which makes man whole, combining mind and body.
Our daily life is very often the exact opposite of a healthy, harmonious, relaxed life style. Places of energy are special places, which enable us to escape everyday life. They are a gift from Mother Nature and must, therefore, be treated with respect and humility.
The place of energy provides special radiation, which can have a calming, uplifting and refreshing effect on our organism. Anyone can, and must take this opportunity to discover one of our places of energy.
Allow yourself to become involved in an adventure with Mother Nature.
Places of energy in Maria Luggau
“Klostermanufaktur” the Convent workshop in Maria Luggau
In 2012, restoration of the garden, dating back to the early Baroque period, was almost complete and the first shoots began to appear in the flower beds.
This project by the Municipality of Lesachtal, the Federal Office for Cultural Heritage, “Bundesdenkmalam” and the archdiocese of Klagenfurt laid the foundations to cultivate the Convent garden, for future sowing, planting and harvesting.
The Nature and Herbs Laboratory “Natur- & Kräuterwerkstatt” of Lesachtal used the ancient medicinal knowledge of the convent and streamed this treasure of wisdom into the project. A refuge for the old varieties of local plants will be set up within the convent walls, which have remained closed until now.
The opening of the Convent garden has created a new tourist attraction in the famous place of pilgrimage of Maria Luggau, which in 2013, celebrated its five hundredth anniversary. The Convent garden invites you to linger in its harmonious environment.
Guided tours of the Convent garden of Maria Luggau
The “convent medicine” is the central theme of the approximately 1 hour-long guided tour of the historic gardens. Starting with the plant heritage of the Convent garden, the expert Simone Matouch from Natur- & Kräuterwerkstatt of Lesachtal will lead you into the mediaeval world with a talk on the history of medicine from Hypocrates to Hildegard of Bingen, right up to modern times. The spiritual-geomatic aspects of the project structure and design will complete her explanation.
